Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals!
The most exciting part of my day was watching the Pens WIN Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals today. 3 overtime periods. It was pretty sweet. And I met another Pittsburgher in SF and that was cool.

You can read that right??? Well, I say don't blame the photographer, I wasn't the speedy gonzales driving by it (ahem, sis). :D
Well, we tried a restaurant in my 'hood - Naan-N-Curry. My sister had heard of it before, good things, so we decided to give it a try. It's an interesting self serve kind of restaurant. You stand in line, order your food, get directed to a specific table, then you have to go and get your own water, tea, plates, and utensils. (Be sure to watch where you sit and wipe all your dining wares before digging in).
We had been puzzled because when we inquired our next table companions about the identity of one of the dishes, chicken masala, it turns out, the women proceeded to say, "It's good, it's mild, thank goodness!"
Our puzzlement was answered when we got our dishes, chicken vindaloo and panek paneer. They were both SPICY HOT. Our mouths, and soon tummies, were on fire! This is definitely one of the more spicy Indian food restaurants that I have been to. Even their samosas were kinda spicy hot. It was all good mind you, and the naan delicious (would have been better if straight out of the oven), but very very spicy. I think we'll be trying that chicken masala the next time we're in!

The Stuckey's Pecan Log comes back to haunt us...
I bet you all forgot about that Stuckey's pecan log, purchased way back when in Kentucky. Despite some flattening, it survived, and we decided that we should give it a try. I mean, we bought it and carried it cross country, right? Would it be tasty? Interesting? Both?

I am known to be a bit of a pack rat. What can I say? I get attached to some things. But turns out this was a good thing as my sister found something very special to her the other day:
She couldn't believe it! It was her cute vintage snoopy bag from the 70s. And yes, I had just happened to pack it and bring it with me to CA. So, sing along to "Reunited" with me!

Biking @ China Camp!
Ok, ok, I'll admit, I haven't gotten round to biking in a long time. 3rd and 4th year got to me time wise! So, I was excited to actually get out and ride my bike with my sister. We decided to go to China Camp because it's very very beautiful there (the views!) and because I liked it the last time I went there with her.
The day started out beautiful - check out the views we got of the bridge and city:
Due to my own vanity, no picures of me on the ride will be posted. :) Maybe in the future. Suffice it to say, that we did get to see beautiful views. And the downhill was fun! I didn't eat any dirt, so that was a big positive on this bike ride. I'm definitely out of shape though. Grrr. Argh.

How can you not love IKEA?
Especially when you have little $$$.
I've already gone twice to IKEA in the last week I've been here. And managed to spend quite a bit of $$ while there, so whether I am saving money by shopping there is up for grabs, but I do think that overall I spend less than what I would have at other places.
You'd think that all the IKEA stores have the same stuff, right? Well, it turns out that they don't! I actually couldn't return something I had bought at the East Palo Alto store at the Berkeley branch for that very reason. And just as an FYI, the returns/exchanges/help staff at BOTH locations are super nice.
I was trying out some chairs, specifically some recliing chairs. This one that was super comfy was supposed to be a recliner. (This photo is take 2. My original effort to recline the chair was much more involved and less funny on my part).
As you can tell, it doesn't recline so much. This must have been a defective one.
And while I was spending some money, I decided to get my sister to sepnd some to. They had this really nice sideboard in the as-is section (never forget to check out this section, you can get some really great finds here!) that I tried to convince my sister she needed. What do you think?

Hmm, methinks my sister needs some new windhield wipers.
Once the flash was off and I found a clear little spot to take pics through the window, this is what I got. Pretty!
