A wild goose chase

As I mentioned previously, we had a long day of driving. Well, we hit the Oklahoma City area around dinner time. We thought we would just take the opportunity to find dinner there before continuing on our drive. A little ways out, with nothing but fast food to be seen, we decided that we would try a restaurant at a casino which was being advertised like mad by billboard.

We exited where told, and began to follow their signs, At first, all looked well, although we did begin to wonder where this casino was located – was it in the middle of nowhere and were we going to drive forever to reach it? We decided to give it 5 minutes before we turned around. But in the meantime, my sister realized that we were on the historic Route 66! How cool was that?

Soon though, and less than the 5 minutes that we had allotted, we found ourselves located in the middle of a neighborhood. Definitely NOT on the way to a casino with food!

So, unfortunately, we didn’t get our dinner there or anytime soon. But we did get to drive on (very briefly) Route 66!
